Black Kite - Omnipresent Hawk

The black kite (Milvus migrans) is the most abundant species of raptors all over the world. The subspecies Milvus migrans govinda is the brown kite commonly seen soaring in the skies of the Indian subcontinent.
Black kites are attracted to smoke and fires, where they seek escaping prey. It is believed that kites spread fires by picking and dropping burning twigs so as to flush prey.
