Rothschild's Giraffe - Tall, Dark and graceful
The Rothschild's Giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis rothschildi) or Baringo Giraffe or Ugandan Giraffe
This is a subspecies of the Northern Giraffe and is one of the most endangered species with less than 1500 mature individuals in the wild.
The giraffe is named after Walter Rothschild, the founder of the famed Tring Museum
It's also known as the Baringo giraffe, after the Lake Baringo area of Kenya.
The Rothschild's giraffe displays no markings on the lower leg, giving it the impression of wearing white stockings
